Cyanotype care guide
Learn how to protect cyanotype prints from direct sunlight, moisture, acidic storage materials, and poor framing choices.
Avoid direct sunlight
Display cyanotype prints away from direct UV and strong window light. UV-protective glass or acrylic is recommended for bright rooms.
Avoid moisture
Keep prints away from damp rooms, condensation, wet hands, and humid storage. Store unframed prints flat and dry.
Frame with acid-free materials
Use acid-free mats and backing boards. Avoid alkaline materials and cheap acidic storage paper for long-term keeping.
Handle carefully
Handle prints with clean dry hands or cotton gloves. Avoid touching the printed surface unnecessarily.
